Sage Vintage Baby Shower Cake with Dried Flower Daisies

This was my first attempt at a vintage buttercream cake. When it comes to decorating, piping is easily my biggest weakness (which is why you won’t see me make cupcakes very often). Although not perfect, I was really pleased at how this turned out.

For this cake I used our 12” cake boards, white rodanthe dried daisies and a fine coating of our white silver lustre on the top to add a touch of sparkle. I also whitened the buttercream then added Colour Mill Sage to achieve the overall colour.

All of our own products, which I used to create this cake, are shown below.

Dried Rodanthe Daisies

Our white daisies are so delicate and pretty and suit many cake styles.

At The Baked Studio we only use high quality dried florals and we are sure you will be impressed with how beautiful these are.

Colour Mill Oil Based Colour

Sage is possibly the most popular Colour Mill shade in their range. It’s not hard to see why!

A small amount also goes a long way, so don’t be put off by the small bottles.

Edible Lustre Dust

Our edible lustre dusts provide an incredible finish, whether used on their own or mixed with a rejuvenating solution.

White Silver is versatile as it can create a colour on its own, or used to accentuate a base colour to make it sparkle.

Eco Friendly Cake Drums

These boards are amazing and are a staple for many bakers!!! They are super lightweight, yet super strong and 100% recyclable.

The wrapped edges provide the perfect finish for your cakes.
